CASS WARNER
President
As head of Warner Sisters Productions, Cass is responsible for acquiring
and developing film and book projects for motion pictures, television
and home-video.
Under Cass's guidance, each project seeks to "educate, entertain and
enlighten." These were the original goals set forth by Cass's grandfather,
Harry Warner, founder and president of the Warner Brothers studio.
Growing up in Hollywood and on the studio lot inspired Cass to take
every opportunity to learn about the film making process and the business
of film making. The magic of watching this collaborative art was contagious.
Apprenticing with her father, writer/producer Milton Sperling, twice
nominated for the Academy Award for his films, THE SANDS OF IWO JIMA
and THE COURT MARITAL OF BILLY MITCHELL, Cass also studied screenwriting
with Syd Field, Viki King and Howard Koch (one of the writers of CASABLANCA).
Her affiliation and admiration for Koch motivated Cass to acquire
the exclusive rights to all of his unproduced works, which include
screenplays, plays, short stories and novels. Warner Sisters has the
pleasure of currently developing these projects.
Besides writing and adapting screenplays, Cass is the author of the
book, HOLLYWOOD BE THY NAME: THE WARNER BROTHERS STORY published by
University Press of Kentucky, now in its fifth printing. This in-depth,
intimate history of the "Warner Boys" is slated for an up-coming TV
mini-series adaptation, and documentary.
She is pleased to announce that as a result of having chosen a photo
for the cover of her book of her family's first theater in New Castle,
Pennsylvania, the theater is getting restored. It is becoming the
cornerstone that will breathe life back in to the place where their
dream began. She is the creative consultant on this downtown revitalization
project. (More information can be accessed at www.firstwarnertheatre.com)
Cass is the proud mother of four children. One of them is actor, Cole
Hauser. He has appeared in over a dozen films, including roles in
GOOD WILL HUNTING; TIGERLAND directed by Joel Schumacher, for which
Cole received a 2001 Spirit Award nomination for "Best Supporting
Actor"; White Oleander for which he was presented with "Best
Male Breakthrough Award" from Movieline Magazine; and is the
lead in Mel Gibson's movie Paparazzi. She is working with her talented
son to develop projects she'll produce. Specifically for him.
Cass is honored to carry on the Warner tradition, and values being
able to contribute to her family's legacy.
